Mr AlJaaly’s Humanitarian Cardiac Initiative Project

The base unit of the cardiac centre will be a state-of-the-art hospital infrastructure to smooth healing in the post-operative period. The infrastructure of interior design will focus on the unique structure of cardiac theatres within the vicinity of the intensive care unit. This will add to immediate actions required in case of any complications, such as chest re-opening within 5mins will increase the survival rate.

Clinical areas

The centre will need to accommodate major clinical areas:

  • Medical and Surgical beds (pre-op and post-operative beds)
  • 16 Bedded Intensive care unit
  • 16 Bedded High dependency unit
  • Cardiac Surgical Operating Theatres including a Hybrid Theatre
  • Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories and Recovery Room
  • X-Ray department with a multi-channel spiral CT Scanner
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Echocardiography suit
  • Pulmonary function laboratory
  • Clinical laboratory services
  • Base unit Design (Work in progress)

Staffing

Medical Staffing will be a mixture of appointed and visiting teams to ensure the stability of the daily work volume and the outreach for unique expertise and skills: –

  • Cardiac Surgeons
  • Cardiac Anaesthetists
  • Cardiologists
  • Junior Surgical and medical doctors
  • Nurses
  • Allied health professionals
  • Administrators
